Salford City Council to discuss city’s next chapter in session at UKREiiF Annual Event

Salford have confirmed they will be attending and hosting their own session ‘Salford: The Next Chapter’ on Tuesday, 17th May in the Bury Theatre at Leeds Royal Armouries. During this session they will be discussing their ambitious, place-led regeneration programmes which have attracted over £3.1bn of private sector investment over the last decade. In line with these goals, they’re well on track to deliver their 40,000 new homes and 40,000 new jobs pledge by their 2040 target.

At this session you will be able to hear what’s next for Salford as they will be highlighting their future investment opportunities. With MediaCityUK expected to double in size and their Salford Crescent Masterplan sparking a new era of growth, this location is becoming a very attractive place for people to live and work. Another prime example of their regeneration efforts is their recent bid, via the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, to become the home of Great British Railways (GBR), which could inject even more life into the already buzzing area! The shortlist is due to be released in May with a public vote to inform a final decision in Summer 2022.

Salford is rapidly becoming a hotspot for housing and they’re working exceptionally hard to meet these demands. A recent Rightmove study to identify the biggest increases in house prices showed that Salford in Greater Manchester was actually 10th in the country, with house prices rising a whopping 11.3% in just 12 months. Developers are well aware of Salford’s evident popularity and therefore new projects are popping up all over this part of Greater Manchester; such as the nearly 700-home Countryside and Bellway development.

Tom Stannard, Chief Executive of Salford City Council said: “Salford is one of the North West’s core drivers of investment and opportunity. With Manchester City Council we are leading the growth of Greater Manchester and much of the North West region. We are investing as a city council in every area of our economy to fire it up for the future, forging lasting links across our skills pipelines and capitalise on this moment of sustained opportunity and growth for our city.

“Salford is Greater Manchester’s fastest growing city with more businesses being welcomed every year and the scale of opportunity for investment in our office, residential and industrial markets is unprecedented right now with the business, professional and financial services sectors amongst many continuing to place their trust in Salford and reaping the rewards that it brings.

“I am delighted that we will have the opportunity at UKREiiF to showcase our city to a wider audience and look forward to demonstrating the case for why investors should look no further than Salford as the place to invest.”

Built Environment Networking’s Director, Amanda Griffiths said “The incredibly successful regeneration of Salford will no doubt be envied across other city regions in the UK right now. Through collaboration they have completely transformed the area, and subsequently, created a true investment hotspot. Schemes like their Salford Crescent Masterplan explain why so many investment eyes are interested in Salford and we can’t wait to introduce them to new potential investors in the most apt place“.

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 17-19 May 2022. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
