Built Environment Networking, the organisers behind The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), has revealed that they’re on the path to achieve ISO20121 Event Sustainability Management Accreditation.
The accreditation looks to mitigate the impact events have on resources, society and the environment – whilst also relieving the strain on local infrastructure and utilities to reduce the potential for conflict in communities where events are hosted.
With over 400 events run annually Built Environment Networking are making a major commitment to make their events more sustainable through this announcement. They are working with Crowberry Consulting, an environment, ethics, and corporate responsibility management consultancy to prepare for the Accreditation.
Keith Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer at Built Environment Networking, said: “Events can have a strain on the environment, but at Built Environment Networking we’re aiming to achieve an industry first by achieving this Accreditation. It’s another example of how we’re leading the way in important issues in the industry, such as measuring the social value generated from the flagship UKREiiF event.”
