Built Environment Networking awarded prestigious ISO Event Sustainability certification for UKREiiF

Built Environment Networking has received ISO 20121:2012 (Event Sustainability Management) accreditation for UKREiiF – after meeting the extensive criteria of the standards audited by global leader in ISO accreditation SGS.

The accreditation showcases the exceptional work of the Built Environment Networking team to ensure the inaugural UKREiiF, which gathered over 4,000 delegates from across the real estate, property, investment and infrastructure sectors in May, was delivered against high sustainability and inclusivity measures.

The accreditation doesn’t just focus on the sustainability aspect of UKREiiF – with three dimensions being reviewed and audited:

  • Social
  • Economic
  • Environmental

Speaking of the accreditation CEO and Founder of Built Environment Networking Keith Griffiths said: “This accreditation shows the real values and ethics that Built Environment Networking build their events around – and to deliver the exceptionally high standards needed to achieve this ISO accreditation across both our practices but also across the wider supply chain, show our commitment is more than just tick boxes.

“I would like to thank the whole Built Environment Networking team for their continued support and involvement in driving forward this important agenda and delivering on our commitment as a business, and for those external stakeholders, partners and those within our supply chain on helping both us and others to become a more sustainable and inclusive industry.

“I’d also like to thank ARUP for working with us to publish a report on the economic impact of UKREiiF which topped £5.5m for the local economy in addition to the wider investment UKREiiF will unlock from both domestic and international sources with over £100bn of opportunities showcased at the event.

“A crucial area of the measurement was also within the social and EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) arena, an area we have been pushing the industry to do better on for years, as we utilise our platform to enable those from under-represented groups to be represented and discover industry pathways. A huge thanks to our EDI consultancy Constructing Rainbows and their founder Sharon Slinger, Amos Simbo (BPIC Network) and Ed Taylor (CB Collier) who form part of our advisory group, and all of the partners and organisations who got involved whether it be through our Diversity Charter or through positive and inclusive events held at UKREiiF.”
